With the aim of releasing the brand new single ‘Damaged Goods’, the emerging electronic music duo ‘LouSkylar’ contacted Henry Paulet Design with the intention of throwing a unique and creative launch party set to highlight the duo’s musical talent and set list of upcoming tracks.
Hosted at ‘Film Never Die’, a photography studio situated on Bourke St in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, the venue had no stock equipment fit to facilitate two support acts and LouSkylar’s band – providing a challenge for Henry Paulet Design. Limited power availability, low ceilings and other building occupants being only a few complications.
To facilitate this launch event, Henry Paulet Design was engaged to provide staging, lighting, video and sound production. With the focus of the evening being LouSkylar’s brand new live version of their highly successful singles ‘Sin’ and ‘Damaged Goods’, a detailed but punchy PA system was required. The JBL VRX series was chosen as the main system with a Soundcraft SI Impact as the chosen FOH console, with monitors all provided through Sennheiser EW300 series IEMs.
Lighting was included for both effect and room illumination from a range of LED Par Cans and Moving Head Profiles, operated from a LSC Mantra Lite. In addition to these lighting effects, visual elements were a heavily utilised component of the evening, with 10 LED video panels placed both on and flown behind the stage for effect. This allowed the stage to be a significantly more dynamic space and brought movement to the high energy performance.
