‘To die will be an awfully big adventure’ – Peter Pan
As Vision Designer for ‘Peter Pan’, Henry Paulet Design undertook a totally new and unique stance on Vision for Performance. With the focus of the show being on perspective and unique understanding of characters emotion throughout the story, Video was to play a large part in communicating this to the audience. As the show opens, a large cinema screen is immediately noteworthy, as close-up, cinema quality live footage filmed on stage in front of the audience is revealed.
The screen’s use throughout the show enables audience members to experience a never before seen insight into the world of ‘Neverland’ and how the workings of magic are shown. This new live cinema technique was a fitting innovation for the brand new venue (Martyn Myer Arena, Southbank) and showcased the potential Vision has in new venues and with modern technology.
